This guide will help you if you are switching to a different courier or adding a new courier and you want to update your Shipping Rules to select Shipping Methods for the new courier or you want to create similar rules for your new courier.
The first step is to add your new Courier integration and set up Shipping Methods, if you haven't done that yet you will need to before continuing with these instructions.
Scenario A - You're switching from one Courier to another and want to change your existing Shipping Rules to point to Shipping Methods on this new Courier.
So, let's say you had been using Courier A and you're now switching to use Courier B instead. All you want to do is change your rules that pointed to Shipping Methods for Courier A to point to Shipping Methods for Courier B.
For each Shipping Rule you need to change you'll simply need to click the 'Edit' button next to that Shipping Rule. Scroll down to the bottom of the window to the section marked 'Apply Shipping Method...'. All you'll need to do here is pick the new Shipping Method that this rule should point to and then click 'Amend Rule'.
Scenario B - You're switching from one Courier to another and you need to make changes to your existing Shipping Rules and get them to point to Shipping Methods on this new Courier
So, in this instance you're changing from using Courier A to using Courier B, but you can't just do a straight swap of your rules, they might need altering slightly or you might need to create additional rules.
If you want to make a change to an existing rule and also change the Shipping Method it points to then find the Shipping Rule you want to change and click the 'Edit' button next to it. In the pop-up window make any changes to the parameters of the rule then scroll down to the section marked 'Apply Shipping Method...' and change the Shipping Method the rule is associated with. Click 'Amend Rule' to save the updated Shipping Rule.
If you decide you need to create extra rules for your new Courier / Shipping Method then you can either create new rules from scratch or you can Clone an existing rule (by clicking the 'Clone' button next to the rule) and use that as a starting point. You can then alter that rule as described in the paragraph above.
Scenario C - You're adding a new courier and you want to set up similar Shipping Rules to your existing ones but have them point to Shipping Methods on this new Courier.
So, in this case you're still using Courier A but you've also added Courier B too and you need to set up new rules to point to your Shipping Methods for Courier B.
Your options here are either to set up your new Shipping Rules from scratch or you can Clone an existing rule (by clicking the 'Clone' button next to the rule) and use that as a starting point.
To update a cloned Shipping Rule find that Shipping Rule and click the 'Edit' button next to it. In the pop-up window make any changes to the parameters of the rule then scroll down to the section marked 'Apply Shipping Method...' and change the Shipping Method the rule is associated with. Click 'Amend Rule' to save the updated Shipping Rule.
If you're using similar rules for different Shipping Methods then make sure to ensure that the rules are sufficiently different to avoid multiple rules matching a specific order.
