Adding Product Tax to Shopify Listings – StoreFeeder

If you list your products on Shopify, you may be required to add or remove tax depending on the products. This guide details how to alter this field for your product listings.

Adding Product Tax to Simple Products

To add product tax to your Shopify listings for simple products, first navigate to ('Listings'>'Manage Listings') to view all of your listings. Filter for the Shopify listing you wish to change. Hover the mouse pointer over the Channel Identifier number, and click 'Edit' as shown:

You will be directed to the Listing details page for that particular listing. From here, a drop down box has been added to select the applicable Product Tax, as circled:

The options available are:

Do NOT charge taxes on this product,

Charge taxes on this product,

Unspecified: Sets the Product Tax to your default setting. StoreFeeder will not alter tax settings for this product listing.

If tax is added, you will be able to view the added tax on your Product Details pages.

Note that the exact tax rate is saved on your product Information pages, and can be accessed by navigating to 'Products'>'Manage Products')

Adding Product Tax to Variant Products

To change the product tax for individual components of variant products, navigate to ('Listings'>'Manage Listings') and select the listings for the variant product you would like to change. Hover the mouse pointer over the Channel Identifier number, and click 'Edit' as shown:

You will be directed to the Listing details page. from here, Click the 'Variants' tab as circled:

You will then be able to view each product variant. Choose the particular product you would like to alter the product tax for, and click the settings 'cog' icon.

From here, a separate window will be displayed with the Advanced Settings for that variant product. Click the 'Advanced Variation Data' tab, and select the product tax option from the drop down box:
