In this knowledgebase we will go through the new V3 Exchange Rates page.
To get here, go to 'Settings > Accounting > Exchange Rates' on the V3 settings page
or 'Settings > Misc. > Exchange Rate' on the V2 settings page.
If the screen you are presented with doesn't match the images below then please ensure you have elected to use the new V3 page as below:
This will automatically redirect you to the new V3 page.
As with all of of V3 pages you can switch back to the old version should you require.
Simply click the (vial) icon and switch off the (beta page toggle).
You are also able to give us feedback from the same page.
Creating a new exchange rate
Firstly, click the 'New Exchange Rate' button.
Select the currency exchange you wish to make from the 'Exchange' drop down box and click the 'Add Exchange Rate' button.
You are able to type the currency codes in to filter to the correct currency.
You will now be returned to the grid where you can amend values away from the automatic exchange rates to a manual rate, if you desire. You are also able to add an overhead percentage to allow for any extra fees you may be subject to.
The overhead percentage is applied to the automatic rate if the manual rate has not been entered. Or if a manual rate has been entered then the overhead percentage will be applied to that. You don't need to enter an overhead if it doesn't apply.
Your new exchange rate has now been added.
The automatic exchange rates are checked daily around 4pm and are taken from the following source: https://openexchangerates.org/
Setting a Manual Exchange Rate
It is also possible in StoreFeeder to set a manual exchange rate, you can enter this if you purchase currency at particular rate for a period of time to help make the currency conversions in StoreFeeder more accurate.
To set a manual rate you just need to enter a value into the manual rate as shown below:
We would recommend entering this value to 4 decimal places to match the automatic values.
Amending an exchange rate
Changing an exchange rate is easy, all you need to do is either amend the manual rate or the overhead. The update column will change to have 2 icons rather than 1.
If you are happy to save then click the tick button to save changes:
If you have made a mistake then just click the undo arrow to discard changes and the values will be set back to their previous state:
Deleting an exchange rate
If you no longer require an exchange rate in StoreFeeder then you are able to delete both individually or in bulk.
Deleting a single exchange rate
Click on the 3 dots of the currency you wish to delete and then click "Delete"
You will then have a confirmation message asking if you are sure as you can see here:
Deleting multiple exchange rates
If you wish to delete multiple exchange rates at the same time then you are also able perform this action in bulk. Tick any rows that you want to delete. A new option will appear at the top of the screen and you will have a delete option.
After clicking on delete you will again have a confirmation asking if you are sure
If you click delete on either the single or bulk deletion you will then get a confirmation they have been deleted and you will be returned to the grid.
Now you have configured your exchange rates. Whenever we import orders we will set the conversion rate using the rate you have added. This rate is applied to orders at the time of import. Any changes you make to exchange rates (including deletions) will not affect historic orders.
