This article explains each of the settings in the eBay Specific Settings section of an eBay channel in StoreFeeder, what they change, and when you might want to turn them on or off.
Where to find your eBay settings
Go to Settings > Integrations, open the eBay channel you want to change and scroll to the eBay Specific Settings section. Click Save after making any changes.
If you have more than one eBay channel, each has its own settings, so check you are editing the right one. Hover over any underlined setting name to see a short description of it.
Settings loaded from your eBay account
These settings are greyed out because StoreFeeder reads them from your eBay account. You can't change them in StoreFeeder.
eBay country
Shows the eBay site this channel is connected to, for example United Kingdom.
Using Business Policies
Business policies are the shipping, payment and returns rules you set up once in your eBay account and then apply to many listings, instead of entering postage, payment and returns details on every listing individually. This setting shows On when your eBay account uses business policies. To change it, update your business policy settings in your eBay account.
Using Managed Payments
Shows On when eBay handles buyer payments for your account through managed payments. This value only loads when your channel is connected to eBay through eBay's current sign-in (OAuth) connection. If it shows Off and you know your eBay account uses managed payments, contact our support team so we can check how your channel is connected.
Order settings
Import unpaid orders
By default, StoreFeeder only imports eBay orders that have been paid for. Turn Import unpaid orders on if you want orders that are still awaiting payment to come into StoreFeeder too, for example so that stock is allocated as soon as the buyer commits to the purchase.
Download Auction Orders
StoreFeeder lists your items on eBay as Buy It Now (fixed price) listings. If you also run the occasional auction directly on eBay, turning Download Auction Orders on imports those orders as well, so you can pick, pack and despatch them through StoreFeeder with the rest of your orders. Auction orders are not linked to products in StoreFeeder, so they don't adjust your stock levels automatically.
Send Royal Mail Delivery Confirmation Numbers
When this is on, StoreFeeder sends the Royal Mail delivery confirmation number to eBay for Royal Mail shipments that don't have a tracking number.
Listing and pricing settings
Automatic relisting
This setting is on by default. When one of your listings ends on eBay, StoreFeeder relists it for you. If you turn Automatic relisting off, ended listings stay ended and are no longer visible on eBay. To sell that product again you'll need to create a new listing.
Description Contains Price
If your eBay listing template shows the item's price inside the description, turn Description Contains Price on. When a price changes, StoreFeeder then sends a full listing update to eBay instead of a price-only update, so the price in your description is updated too. Full listing updates take longer, so leave this off if your description doesn't mention the price.
Using eBay Sales
Turn Using eBay Sales on if you create sales on eBay with markdown sales or promotions. If this is off, StoreFeeder removes the sale from the listing the next time it sends an inventory update.
Preserve Sales
When Preserve Sales is on, listings that are part of an active eBay sale only receive stock level updates from StoreFeeder, and the Save and Upload button on the listing is disabled while the sale is running.
Settings no longer in use
These settings still appear on the channel but no longer have any effect.
Use selling manager
This setting is deprecated. You can leave it as it is.
Click And Collect Type
This setting is not in use. You can leave it as it is.
PayPal default email and PayPal approved emails
eBay has moved all sellers to managed payments, so these fields are deprecated. StoreFeeder still asks for an email address in PayPal default email before you can save the channel, but it isn't used for payments.
Selling on more than one eBay marketplace
If you sell on more than one eBay site, such as ebay.co.uk, ebay.de and ebay.fr, there are two ways to bring those orders into StoreFeeder. Choose one, not both.
Download Orders From All Market Places
Turn Download Orders From All Market Places on to treat all of your eBay sites as a single channel. All of your eBay orders and listings, from every marketplace, come in through this one channel. This suits sellers using a small number of marketplaces that share a currency.
Parent Channel
If you sell on many marketplaces, or on marketplaces with different currencies, set up a separate eBay channel for each marketplace instead and link them together:
- Treat the eBay marketplace you originally signed up to as your parent channel.
- Create a separate eBay channel in StoreFeeder for each other marketplace.
- On each of those channels, set Parent Channel to the name of your parent channel.
- On the parent channel, make sure Download Orders From All Market Places is off.
Troubleshooting
My eBay sale disappeared after a stock update
Turn on Using eBay Sales for that eBay channel. Without it, StoreFeeder removes the sale when it next updates inventory.
Orders are not coming in from eBay until the buyer pays
This is the default behaviour. Turn on Import unpaid orders if you want unpaid orders imported as well.
The same eBay order appears twice in StoreFeeder
Check your parent channel. Download Orders From All Market Places must be off when you use child channels.
I can't turn Using Business Policies or Using Managed Payments on
These values come from your eBay account and can't be changed in StoreFeeder. Update the setting in your eBay account. If Using Managed Payments still shows Off, contact our support team.
I can't click Save and Upload on a listing
If Preserve Sales is on and the listing is part of an active eBay sale, uploading is disabled until the sale ends.
