This guide shows you how to link your Magento 2 attributes to StoreFeeder product fields, so StoreFeeder sends the right values to Magento when it uploads a listing.
Before you start
- Attributes are stored on your products, not your listings. To change an attribute value, you change the product field it's mapped to.
- StoreFeeder only sends attribute values to Magento when it uploads a listing.
Step 1: Open your Magento integration
- Go to Settings > Integrations. In the new navigation, click the settings cog at the top right, then go to My company > Integrations.
- Click your Magento channel.
- In the menu on the left, click Map Magento Attributes.
Step 2: Import your Magento attributes
Click Import Attributes at the top right. This brings your current list of attributes in from Magento, so they're available to map.
Step 3: Map each attribute
- In the Magento Attribute dropdown, choose the Magento attribute.
- In the Mapping Attribute dropdown, choose the StoreFeeder field that holds the value.
- Click Add Mapping.
The mapping appears in the list underneath. To undo one, tick it and click Remove Mapping.
Updating an attribute on a listing
- Open the product the listing is mapped to.
- Change the product field that's mapped to the attribute, then save the product.
- Open the listing in StoreFeeder and click Save and Upload to send the change to Magento.
Updating attributes in bulk
- Update the product fields with a product import. See How to use the Product Import/Export Feature.
- Import a file that contains the listings you want to update, with Update to Channel switched on. See How to Use Listings Import Export.
Bulk updates only reach Magento if Upload Listings is switched on in your Magento integration settings.
If Upload Listings has been switched off for a long time, StoreFeeder's copy of your listings may be out of date. Redownload your listings before you switch it on, and make sure everyone in your business knows: once it's on, changes need to be made in StoreFeeder, or they'll be overwritten.
Troubleshooting
An attribute I need isn't in the Magento Attribute dropdown
Click Import Attributes again to bring in attributes added in Magento since your last import.
The attribute value hasn't changed on Magento
Check that you saved the product, then used Save and Upload on the listing. For bulk updates, check that Upload Listings is switched on.
