How to Integrate Storefeeder with Virtualstock
1. Getting your Virtualstock username and password
Storefeeder does not issue these credentials — they come from Virtualstock (or the retailer that onboarded you onto Virtualstock), and are the same login you use for the Virtualstock Supplier Portal.
- New suppliers: credentials are issued during Virtualstock's supplier onboarding process, run either by Virtualstock directly or by the retailer that's bringing you onto their network. Onboarding typically includes a setup/configuration phase, user account creation, and a "train the trainer" session before go-live.
- Existing suppliers / lost or reset credentials: contact your Virtualstock account manager or the Virtualstock service desk — they manage and provision all API/portal access. There's no self-service credential creation.
- The login is basic auth (username + password) — the same credentials used to log into the Virtualstock web portal, not a separate API key or OAuth client id/secret.
- If your retailer/account is provisioned with a sandbox (UAT) environment, ask Virtualstock for a separate set of sandbox credentials — these are distinct from your live/production login.
2. Connecting the channel in Storefeeder
- Go to Settings → Integrations and add a new Virtualstock channel.
- Fill in the Integration Profile:
- Profile Name — any label to identify this connection.
- Company Identity — the Storefeeder company identity to link orders/stock to.
- Under Link your Virtualstock Account, enter:
- Username / Password — your Virtualstock portal credentials (see above).
- Sandbox toggle — turn this on only if you were given sandbox/UAT credentials and want to test against Virtualstock's non-live environment.
- Click Test Connection to verify the credentials before saving. If it fails, double check the credentials are correct (a common cause of failure) — reach out to Virtualstock support if the login itself is not working on their portal either.
- Configure sync options (each is a toggle, all optional beyond your needs):
- Import Orders — download orders placed on Virtualstock into Storefeeder.
- Update Shipping Details — push tracking/despatch info back to Virtualstock once orders ship.
- Automatic Product Download — pull Virtualstock listing/product data into Storefeeder automatically.
- Update Prices — push stock levels and prices from Storefeeder back to Virtualstock.
- Click Save. On first save, Storefeeder registers the integration with Virtualstock's API using your credentials; subsequent saves just update sync settings.
3. Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| "Please check your account details" on Test Connection | Wrong username/password, or credentials are for the wrong environment (live vs sandbox) |
| Connection worked once, then orders/stock stop syncing | Virtualstock may have rotated/expired the password, or the channel was auto-disabled after repeated auth failures (401/403) — re-enter credentials and reconnect |
| Need sandbox access | Not self-service — request it from your Virtualstock account manager |
