This article explains how to connect your Visualsoft webstore to Storefeeder, what data syncs between the two systems, and how to troubleshoot the most common connection issues.
Before you start
You'll need the following details from your Visualsoft account before connecting:
| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| Base Url | The web address Storefeeder uses to reach your Visualsoft store's API. |
| Client Id | The API client identifier issued by Visualsoft for your store. |
| Username | The API username provided by Visualsoft. |
| Password | The API password provided by Visualsoft. |
All four fields are required.
How to get these details from Visualsoft
Visualsoft doesn't provide a self-service page for generating API credentials — you'll need to request them from Visualsoft directly:
- Contact your Visualsoft account manager, or
- Raise a request through Visualsoft support at support.visualsoft.co.uk, or
- Call Visualsoft support on 01642 676 018, or use their contact form at visualsoft.co.uk/contact
When you get in touch, let them know you want to set up an API integration with a third-party system (Storefeeder) and ask for your Base Url, Client Id, Username, and Password for API access. Visualsoft will issue these to you directly — Storefeeder cannot generate or retrieve them on your behalf.
Step 1: Open the Visualsoft integration settings
In Storefeeder, go to Settings > Integrations and select Visualsoft from your list of channels.
Step 2: Enter your connection details
Enter your Base Url, Client Id, Username, and Password in the fields provided. Once saved, these fields will display as "received" rather than showing your credentials again — this is expected behaviour and confirms the details were stored.
Step 3: Test the connection
Click Test Connection to confirm Storefeeder can reach your Visualsoft store with the details you've entered. If the test fails, double-check each field for typos before continuing — see Troubleshooting below.
Step 4: Connect
Click Connect to finish setting up the integration. To change your credentials later, update the fields and click Update Connection. To remove the integration entirely, click Disconnect.
Troubleshooting
"ClientId must not be empty" / "Username must not be empty" / "Password must not be empty"
One or more required fields were left blank. Go back into the integration settings and make sure all four fields are filled in before clicking Connect.
"Failed to create integration" / "Failed to update integration" / "Failed to test integration connection"
Storefeeder couldn't reach Visualsoft with the details provided. Double-check your Base Url is correct and that your Client Id, Username, and Password haven't expired or been rotated on the Visualsoft side. If the problem persists, contact Storefeeder support and quote the error reference shown on screen — this lets support look up the exact failure in the logs.
Test Connection fails
This usually means the credentials are valid but the store couldn't be reached, or the credentials themselves are incorrect. Re-enter the details carefully — once saved, fields display as "received" and can't be visually double-checked, so re-type them rather than assuming they were entered correctly.
Orders aren't importing
Check that the order was placed within the last 30 days — orders older than this are not picked up by the automatic import. If a specific order is missing, contact Storefeeder support so it can be flagged for a manual re-download.
