Insights Pro gives you a direct, read-only connection to a StoreFeeder database built for reporting, so you can query your own orders, stock and product data with the BI tool of your choice.
Note: We are constantly updating what is accessable via the reporting database and we are open to adding more tables and columns if required.
What is the Reporting Database?
The Reporting Database is a separate database that holds a copy of your StoreFeeder data, structured for reporting rather than for running the application. You connect to it directly from your own tools — there's no file export or manual download involved.
What data is included
Your Reporting Database covers:
- Orders and despatch: orders, order lines, returns and despatch status
- Products and listings: your product catalogue, supplier details, images and channel listings
- Stock: stock locations, warehouses and zones, and the quantities held in each
- Purchasing: purchase orders and their lines
- Pricing: pricing profiles, with a GBP-converted value shown alongside the original currency
- Picking: pickwaves, and a view of orders ready for picking
- Reference data: categories, attributes, countries and currencies
Note: To protect your customers' privacy, the Reporting Database does not include names, addresses, email addresses or phone numbers. Order locations are limited to postcode area and country.
How the data stays up to date
Your Reporting Database refreshes automatically overnight, so a full copy of your StoreFeeder data is never more than a day old. Orders, order lines, returns and products refresh more often, updating roughly every 15 minutes throughout the day.
Limits and things to watch for
- The Reporting Database is read-only. You can query it, but you can't write to it, and functions or stored procedures aren't available.
- Long-running queries are stopped automatically after 5 minutes, and an idle open connection is closed after 10 minutes. Design reports to run within these limits.
- It's a separate database from the one StoreFeeder runs on. Changes you make in StoreFeeder won't appear immediately — see How the data stays up to date above.
- Personal data — customer names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers — is not included.
Still stuck? Contact StoreFeeder support with your account name and the tool you're using to connect. If a specific query is failing, include the query and the error message it returns.
