Once the conversion is actioned it’s not reversible, so please read the below carefully before committing.
Multi-stock allows you to have stock for a SKU in multiple areas of your warehouse enabling bulk locations and suggesting replenishments.
If you would like this feature added to your StoreFeeder account, please speak to our support team.
If you’re considering transferring from single-stock to multi-stock and have been using StoreFeeder for some time, then this is the article for you.
There are some key differences in how StoreFeeder looks and functions whilst using multi-stock.
The first key difference is the option of ‘Stock Locations’ appearing on your product page.
You also have the Stock Locations option from within your variant products allowing you to see the makeup of the variants. For example, here we have a variant product with an overall total in stock of 35.
I can see this variant has 15 in stock.
Once in the variant I can click on the Stock Locations tab and see the breakdown of this variant only as shown below.
For more information about the Stock Locations page please see this knowledge base
Changes to how we display your stock when you work with multiple stock location
We now switch to the Adjustments/Transfers page, you’ll see we have two new functions on this page that come with converting to multi-stock, these are the stock location adjustment log and pending transfers.
The stock location adjustment log records all movement both in and out of stock locations with a record of the user who completed the action and a reason why.
For example, here you see a transfer out of a location and the transfer into another location.
This is also the place where you can update your inventory in each stock location as after you convert to multiple stock locations you can no longer directly update the overall inventory of a product. This is now the sum of inventory in all locations.
Adjusting your Stock Locations (Multi Stock Locations)
The pending transfers page is a log of all transfers between product locations that are waiting to be approved and assigned to warehouse staff.
For a more in depth look at transfers please see this knowledge base
Transferring your Stock Locations (Multi Stock Locations)
A key part of the process of transferring to multi-stock is the creation of stock locations and assigning them to products. This knowledge base goes into detail about how to create them
Creating Stock Locations and Assigning Them To Products
The process of switching over to using multi-stock locations needs to be done with some notice due to the setup of stock locations so please allow at least a week for the support team to action this, it is recommended to do this at the start of the working week. On the day of transfer, StoreFeeder would need to have no outstanding orders on your account as this can negatively affect stock going forward. The first step in transferring over will be to create your stock locations and begin the process of assigning them to products. On the day of the transfer, one of the support team will be on hand to assist you in a smooth transfer to multi-stock.
For information on Multiple Stock Locations and how you can have it enabled for your account, please contact the StoreFeeder Support Team on 0115 7842150.
