We have also change the functionality around the Unspecified Stock Location. You can find more information on this here:
We have changed how we show your stock levels for products.
On the Product page, you will see a new tab on the left-hand menu called “Stock Locations”
This tab now shows all the information about your inventory and its location in a new, easy to understand layout.
At the top of the page, you will now see your summary:
Each of the boxes has a comprehensive tooltip to show you what the figure represents:
Under the summary, there is a breakdown of the stock locations that your stock is located in.
You will notice that the Unspecified Location is no longer being used.
This has been replaced with an easier to understand methodology.
Instead of showing a negative figure in unspecified to show the number of items on order, this is now shown as a positive figure in the section “Allocated not on pickwaves”.
In the above example, there are no orders for this product, but as soon as one comes in, you will see that the “Available” inventory reduces by 1 and the “Allocated not on pickwaves” figure increases by 1:
When a order is placed on a pickwave, the 1 moves from “Allocated not on pickwave” to “Allocated to pickwave” to show you exactly what stage your stock is at within the business.
We are doing a lot of background work on functions and processes to stop adjustments to the “Unspecified Location” from happening, some of which we have completed and are detailed below. We are constantly working on this, so keep an eye out for more information on more changes in the future.
If stock does get entered into the system and is not assigned a location, it will now show in an additional section that will only appear when this has happened.
In this example, you will see that there is a location associated with the product (1-3), but for some reason, the stock (6 units) is not allocated to it.
We will now display this split as “Stock in known locations” and “Stock in Unknown Locations”. In this example, we have 6 units, but none are located in the known location.
If we had 6 in total, with 4 in a known location (1-3) and 2 not in the location, we would display as follows:
If everything is OK and all stock is in locations, then the 2 yellow boxes will not appear.
