Overview
When listing your products out to channel, StoreFeeder allows you to use several mechanisms to modify your actual inventory figures before supplying them to the channel. In this way you can either list extra items of stock or only list a proportion of your stock. Modifying your inventory can also be a good way to help prevent oversells and ensure you always keep some stock to hands.
The mechanisms that StoreFeeder provide for this are:
- Oversell Amount
- Max Inventory
- Out of Stock
- Inventory Type
- Inventory Percentage
Oversell
There may be instances where you'd like to report to channel more items of stock than you physically hold in inventory, for instance if you have a popular product that you know you can quickly receive stock of from a supplier.
In this case you can use the Oversell Amount to specify a number of additional units of stock, above and beyond the amount you physically have, which you'd like us to use as your inventory for that listing.
Max Inventory
Max inventory allows you to specify a maximum amount of stock that you'd like us to report to channel. We will then only update the inventory to that channel with a figure less than or equal to that maximum amount.
Providing you have more items physically in stock than the Maximum Inventory figure, we will report that Maximum Inventory figure to channel. As soon as your physical stock falls below the Maximum Inventory level, we will then report the actual number of items you have to channel.
Out of Stock Threshold
Setting an Out of Stock Threshold is a useful way to protect your physical inventory and ensure that you always keep some in hand.
The Out of Stock Threshold allows you to to specify a number of units below which we will report your stock to channel as zero.
Inventory Type
Changing the Inventory Type on a listing allows us to take your inventory from various sources and combine it into a total.
There are three options for Inventory Type:
- Inventory + Oversell
- Inventory + Oversell + Priority Supplier Inventory
- Inventory + Oversell + Sum of Suppliers Inventory
Inventory + Oversell
This Inventory Type will take the inventory level from the product (i.e. your physical stock) and add any Oversell Amount you have applied (see Oversell above). If your Oversell Amount is zero then this is equivalent to just using the Product's inventory.
Inventory + Oversell + Priority Supplier Inventory
If you have a supplier that you know can quickly provide stock of an item then you may wish to include their inventory in the inventory we send up to Channel.
This Inventory Type will take the inventory level from your product, add any Oversell Amount you have applied to the listing and also include the inventory of your Default Supplier for that product.
Inventory + Oversell + Sum of Suppliers Inventory
This option will take your Product Inventory, add any Oversell Amount you have applied to the listing and then add the Supplier Stock for all the suppliers you have listed against that product.
