This error message will only occur on IOSS orders which are orders where the tax has been pre-paid. Typically these will be marketplace orders like ebay and amazon but it can be setup on websites so this issue may apply to all orders for some customers.
Some combinations of service codes and settings are not valid for IOSS shipments and with the new EU rules this has become more complicated. Below we'll cover some of the scenarios we're aware of that may cause this issue and what settings you need to use.
- I am getting this error and I am shipping to the following destinations: Greece, Romania
- IOSS shipments are not supported through Royal Mail for Greece and Romania at this time. For these orders you will need to either remove the IOSS number from the order or ship via a different courier.
- I am getting this error and I am shipping to the following destinations: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden
- Make sure you are using a DDU service and "Allow additional handlign fees to paid" is enabled on your shipping method
- I am getting this error and I am shipping to the following destinations: Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia
- Make sure you're using a DDU service and you to ensure the allowed handling fees and delivery duty paid settings are off on your shipping method
