This article covers a common scenario: stock quantity on Amazon UK is showing incorrectly (too high, too low, or not matching what StoreFeeder has sent), and the cause often turns out to be a Build International Listings (BIL) relationship pulling the quantity from other Amazon EU channels instead.
Why would other Amazon EU Channels affect Amazon UK stock?
Built international listings lets one marketplace act as a source and push its price and/or quantity to other target marketplaces automatically. It often sycns whichever is the most recent changed inventory to every other amazon channel so if you don't want to sell on certain EU channels and set their stock to 0 that can sync to all Amazon channels including Amazon UK.
This is easy to miss because the StoreFeeder side looks correct; the overwrite happens afterwards, directly on Amazon.
What is Build International Listings (BIL)?
BIL is a free tool inside Amazon Seller Central that automatically copies price and/or quantity across marketplace listings. It is commonly enabled (sometimes unintentionally) to save sellers time when listing the same products across multiple EU sites.
Once active, any change in stock quantity on a marketplace will automatically push through to other marketplace(s), which can create the appearance that inventory is "syncing" between your EU channels even though nothing in StoreFeeder is causing it.
How to tell if BIL is the cause
- Stock quantity changes on one EU marketplace appear shortly after on another EU marketplace, without any corresponding StoreFeeder push.
- The affected listings are FBM (Merchant Fulfilled), not Pan-European FBA stock.
- The marketplaces involved are ones commonly paired for BIL (e.g. UK as source, DE/FR/IT/ES as targets).
Note: If the product is enrolled in Pan-European FBA, shared inventory pooling is expected behaviour, not a BIL sync issue.
How to disable BIL syncing
- Log in to Amazon Seller Central for the source marketplace (usually your primary/home marketplace).
- Go to Settings > Build International Listings.
- You will see a list of marketplace pairings, showing which marketplace is the source and which are targets.
- Click Edit next to the marketplace pairing that is syncing unexpectedly.
- You have two options:
- Partial disable (recommended if you still want price syncing): Turn off quantity sync only, and leave price sync active. This stops stock levels from copying across while keeping pricing rules intact.
- Full disable: Click Deactivate or Delete relationship to remove the BIL pairing entirely for that marketplace. This stops both price and quantity syncing for that pairing.
- Repeat steps 4–5 for every target marketplace that is affected (BIL relationships are set per marketplace pair, so disabling one does not automatically disable others).
- Changes typically take effect within a few hours, though Amazon can take up to 24 hours to fully stop applying the sync rule.
After disabling BIL
- Each EU marketplace listing will need to be managed independently for stock and pricing going forward.
- If StoreFeeder is set up to push stock to each of these marketplaces separately, confirm the correct per-marketplace stock allocation is configured in StoreFeeder so quantities don't appear to drop to zero or become out of sync after BIL is switched off.
- It's worth double-checking existing live listings shortly after disabling, to confirm quantities are now being driven by StoreFeeder / manual updates rather than the old BIL rule.
