This guide shows you how to export your eBay item specifics, such as Brand, Colour or Material, into a spreadsheet. You can export the specific ones you need or all of them, and use the file to review your listings or update them in bulk.
Before you start
You'll need:
- An eBay channel connected to StoreFeeder.
- Listings that are mapped to products. Unmapped listings can't be exported.
- Item specifics that already exist on that eBay channel. The export list shows every item specific name your account has used on the channel, whichever eBay category it came from.
Step 1: Choose your eBay channel
Go to Listings > Listings Import Export and make sure the Export tab is selected. Choose your eBay channel in the Channel box.
The Fields to Export box stays greyed out until you choose a channel.
Step 2: Choose the item specifics to export
Open the Fields to Export box. The fields are split into groups, and every item specific sits in the Item Specifics group. Each one is listed as Item Specific - Name, for example Item Specific - Brand.
Choose whichever method suits you:
Tick the item specifics you want
Scroll to the Item Specifics group and tick the box next to each item specific you want in your file.
Search for an item specific
If you have a lot of item specifics, type part of the name into the box to narrow the list. For example, type brand to find Item Specific - Brand, then tick it.
Select all of your item specifics
To export every item specific, tick the box on the Item Specifics heading row. This ticks all the item specifics in that group and nothing else. Untick the same box to clear them again.
Step 3: Export the file
Click Export. StoreFeeder downloads an Excel (.xlsx) file with one row for each listing and one column for each field you ticked. Each item specific column is headed Item Specific - Name.
Reading your file
| What you see in a cell | What it means |
|---|---|
A value, for example Nike
|
The value the listing currently has for that item specific. If the item specific takes its value from a Product Field or Custom Attribute, you see the value it currently resolves to. |
Several values separated by |, for example Red|Blue
|
An item specific with more than one value. eBay receives each value separately. |
| A blank cell | That item specific isn't set on that listing. |
Exporting from Manage Listings
To export only some of your listings, go to Listings > Manage Listings. Tick the listings you want, or apply filters to find them, then click Export.
In the Export Listings window, choose Selected (Checked) Listings or All Listings for Current Filters in Listings To Export. Then choose your item specifics in Fields to Export using the same methods as in Step 2, and click Export.
Troubleshooting
The Fields to Export box is greyed out
Choose a channel in the Channel box first. The list of fields depends on the channel.
I can't find the item specific I'm looking for
The list only contains item specifics your account has already used on that eBay channel. Check the spelling by typing part of the name into the box. If it genuinely doesn't exist yet, create it by adding a column to an import file.
An Item Specific column is blank for a listing
The item specific isn't set on that listing, or the listing doesn't have an eBay category yet. Open the listing and check Category & Item Specifics.
"There are no listings to export. Please be aware that only listings which have already been mapped to products can be exported."
Either the channel has no listings, or none of them are mapped to a product yet. Map your listings to products first, then export again.
"It is only possible to export listings for a single channel."
The listings you selected on Manage Listings are on more than one channel. Filter to a single eBay channel and try again.
