This guide shows you how to send orders from your other sales channels to Amazon so they are fulfilled from your FBA stock.
How it works
You add an Amazon Fulfilment warehouse to StoreFeeder. StoreFeeder then shows your FBA stock against an Amazon FBA supplier on your products, you choose to send that stock to your other channels, and orders from those channels are sent to Amazon to be fulfilled by FBA. FBA orders placed on Amazon are fulfilled by FBA as normal.
StoreFeeder does not use your own stock when your Amazon FBA stock runs out. The Amazon listings end and become unfulfillable.
Before you start
Your Amazon channel must already be set up for FBA, with Fulfilment by Amazon turned on and your listings set to a Fulfillment Channel Code. See How to Set an Amazon Listing to Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA).
Step 1: Add an Amazon FBA warehouse
Add a new warehouse to StoreFeeder by following Adding a New Warehouse. When you reach Warehouse Type, select Amazon Fulfilment.
Step 2: Complete the Amazon Fulfilment Settings
In the Amazon Fulfilment Settings section, set the following:
- Displayable Order Comment: a comment to add to the order. This is required.
- Send ship-complete notifications to your customers: turn this on if you want customers to be notified when their order has shipped. We recommend this.
- Standard, Expedited and Priority: select the StoreFeeder shipping methods that relate to each of these service levels.
Step 3: Save the warehouse
Click Save. StoreFeeder can now send orders to Amazon to be fulfilled from your FBA stock.
Step 4: Set the FBA warehouse on your products
Amazon only fulfils the products you choose. For each product you want Amazon to fulfil, set the Amazon Fulfilment warehouse you created in Step 1 as its warehouse. Products without it are fulfilled from your own warehouse as normal.
Step 5: Check the FBA supplier on your products
StoreFeeder shows your FBA stock as supplier stock. Once your Amazon Fulfilment warehouse is set up, StoreFeeder creates a supplier called Amazon FBA and adds it to your products that are mapped to an Amazon FBA listing. It matches them by SKU and ASIN, then keeps the supplier stock level up to date from Amazon's FBA inventory report.
To see it, open the product and look at its suppliers. The stock level against Amazon FBA is the stock Amazon is holding for that product. If a product is not in Amazon's FBA inventory report, its Amazon FBA stock is set to 0.
Step 6: Send your FBA stock to your other channels
The inventory sent to a channel is controlled by its inventory type. To send your FBA stock to a channel, set the inventory type to include supplier inventory:
- Inventory + Oversell + Priority Supplier Inventory: sends your own stock plus the stock held by your highest-priority supplier for that product.
What StoreFeeder does automatically
When an order from one of your other channels is for a product that has the FBA warehouse set and FBA stock, StoreFeeder automatically sends the order to Amazon to be fulfilled by FBA. Once Amazon has accepted the order, its status changes to Sent To Amazon and an FBA Order Created note is added to the order.
StoreFeeder only sends orders placed in roughly the last 30 days. If Amazon rejects an order, the order shows the error and your account administrators receive an in-app message and an email titled FBA Order Creation Failed.
StoreFeeder checks Amazon for the despatch
StoreFeeder regularly asks Amazon for the status of every order it has sent that has not yet been despatched or cancelled. You do not need to update these orders yourself.
StoreFeeder records the despatch
What happens depends on the status Amazon reports:
| Amazon status | What StoreFeeder does |
|---|---|
| Complete | Sets the order to Shipped By Supplier, records the despatch date Amazon gives, and saves the carrier and tracking number or numbers. If Amazon delivered it with Amazon Logistics, StoreFeeder also saves the tracking link. |
| Cancelled | Sets the order to Cancelled By Client. |
| Any other status, for example Received, Planning or Processing | Makes no change to the order. StoreFeeder checks again later. |
If an order has several parcels, StoreFeeder saves every tracking number, separated by commas.
Troubleshooting
The Amazon FBA supplier is not showing on my product
The product must be mapped to an Amazon listing with a matching SKU and ASIN, and the Amazon channel must have Fulfilment by Amazon turned on. Check both, then allow time for the next FBA inventory update.
An order for an FBA product was not sent to Amazon
Check that the product has the Amazon Fulfilment warehouse set (Step 4). StoreFeeder only sends orders to Amazon for products that have it.
My other channel is not showing my FBA stock
Check the channel's inventory type. If it is just Inventory + Oversell, supplier stock, including FBA stock, is not sent.
My Amazon listing has ended and is unfulfillable
Your FBA stock has run out. StoreFeeder does not switch to your own stock, so send more stock to Amazon to make the listing available again.
An order has been sent to Amazon but is still not despatched
Amazon has not yet reported it as complete. Check the order in Amazon Seller Central. StoreFeeder updates it the next time it checks.
"FBA Order Creation Failed"
Amazon rejected the order, and the message lists the order number and the reason. Correct the problem it names, for example an invalid address, and ask the order to be sent again.
