Barcode Validation Type
Set the Barcode Validation type for the pickwave when picking on the App.
This controls the validation required before moving on to the next pick, e.g. scanning the product barcode or scanning the location name and then the product barcode for the quantity required to pick
When you create a pickwave, you can select the 'Barcode Validation Type'. This can be changed per pickwave to allow you to control the level of validation required for that pickwave. Maybe the pickwave is for more valuable items or is Amazon Prime orders, so a higher level of validation is required.
By default, this is set to show 'None' when you create a pickwave.
However, there are currently 3 other levels of validation available:
1. Product - At this level the picker is required to scan a single unit of the product to confirm they have the correct item. Once a correct item is scanned, the 'Next' button will appear allowing the picker to progress.
2. Location and Single Product - The picker must scan the correct location and then a single unit of the correct product (as above). Once both of these are scanned correctly, the 'Next' button will appear.
3. Location and Product Quantity - This is what we call 'Strict Mode'. When this mode is selected, the picker must scan the location, to ensure they are in the correct place and then scan the correct amount of units that they are directed to pick. So if a picker must pick 3 units, they must do 3 separate product scans before the 'Next' button will appear.
To change the default setting that appears in the pickwave creation box, go to 'Settings > Warehouse Management > Despatch Mode' and change the setting here:
Ensure to click 'Save' and this will now update the default validation type on future pickwaves.
Of course, you can still override this on the pickwave creation page if you want to.
