This guide shows you how to map many unmapped listings to products at once by exporting them to a spreadsheet, adding the product SKUs and importing the file. It's useful when a new channel is about to go live, or after you've redownloaded listings.
Before you start
- The products must already exist in StoreFeeder. This import maps listings to existing products. It doesn't create products.
- The import works on one channel at a time.
- If you're remapping listings after a redownload, have the listing export you took beforehand ready. Its Product SKU (Read Only) column tells you which product each listing was mapped to.
Step 1: Export your unmapped listings
- Go to Listings > Listings Import Export.
- Click Export Unmapped Listings on the left.
- Choose the channel from the Channel dropdown.
- Click Export.
Step 2: Add the product SKUs to the file
The file has one row per unmapped listing. These columns describe the listing and are for reference only: Listing ID (Read-only), Listing Name (Read-only), Channel Identifier (Read-only), Listing SKU (Read-only), Listing Price (Read-only), Parent Listing SKU (Read-only) and Attributes (Read-only). The Map Manually column has a link for each listing that opens StoreFeeder so you can map that listing manually instead, for example if you aren't sure which product it belongs to.
- Open the file in your spreadsheet editor.
- For each listing, enter the SKU of the product it should map to in the Product SKU to Map to column.
- Save the file.
For variation listings, enter the SKUs for both the parent and the children. Use Parent Listing SKU (Read-only) to see which children belong to which parent. All of the children must belong to the same product. You can't map children from different products to one listing.
Remapping after a redownload: open the export you took before redownloading. For each row in the unmapped file, find the same Listing SKU in your earlier export and copy its Product SKU (Read Only) value into Product SKU to Map to. In Excel or Google Sheets, a VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP on the Listing SKU does this for every row at once.
Step 3: Import the file
- Click Import & Map Unmapped on the left.
- Click Select File... and choose your file.
- Choose the same channel from the Channel dropdown.
- Choose what to copy when each listing is mapped (see below).
- Click Import.
The copy options work the same way as when you map a listing manually:
- Copy the following from the listing to the product: Images, Custom Attributes and GPSR Data. GPSR Data is set to Yes by default.
- Copy the following from the product to the listing: Images and GPSR Data.
Step 4: Check the results
The mapping runs in the background, so you don't need to stay on the page. When it finishes, StoreFeeder emails the address your StoreFeeder username is based on, from noreply@storefeeder.com. The email summarises how many listings mapped and failed, and links to a results file that gives the reason for each failure.
You can also check past imports on the Import History tab.
Troubleshooting
Some rows failed to map
Open the results file from the email. It gives the reason for each failure. The most common cause is a Product SKU to Map to value that doesn't match a product SKU in StoreFeeder exactly.
The import won't accept my file
Check that the columns are exactly as they were exported, with no filters or extra formatting, and that you chose the same channel you exported from.
I didn't receive the email
Check the spam folder of the email address your StoreFeeder username is based on, then check the Import History tab.
