Once you have followed the device configuration for the model of PDA you are using, you will also need to configure the StoreFeeder App to recognise the input from the devices infra-red scanner.
This ensures that the app records the data from the barcode scans that you perform.
To configure this, log in to the app and from the main menu navigate to 'Settings'.
You should now click one of the following options:
On Device Scanner Configuration - This should be used if you are using a PDA with a built in scanner, or a mobile phone device where you are using the camera to capture the barcode.
Bluetooth Scanner Configuration - This should be used if you have a Bluetooth device connected to the PDA or mobile phone which is used for scanning, such as a laser scanning cradle or a finger scanning device.
On Device Scanner Configuration
Click this, and then select 'I have updated the settings'
You will now need to scan a pre-determined barcode so that we can check that the device input in working correctly. You will need to scan a barcode that outputs 12345678. Here is that barcode for you to scan (or copy, print and scan if your device will not scan from a screen)
You can also print the barcode from this page of the app if you need to by clicking 'Print Barcode'
Click the 'I am ready to scan' button and you will be asked to 'Scan barcode 12345678' at the bottom of the screen. At this point you should scan the barcode above.
Once scanned you will receive a message at the bottom of the screen that says 'Scanner configured successfully' and the app will return to the homepage.
You are now ready to use the app.
Bluetooth Scanner Configuration
Click this if you need to pair a Bluetooth device to the PDA or mobile phone and follow the instructions.
Select the applicable device from the list of devices and click the 'Connect' button
