Custom dashboards created using DAVE

Create a dashboard with DAVE Insights Pro

Describe the dashboard you want in your own words and DAVE builds it from your live orders, stock and despatch data. Custom dashboards are part of Insights Pro. The preset dashboards, such as Sales and Picking & packing, don't need it.

Step 1: Start a new dashboard

Go to Dashboards and click Create with DAVE. The DAVE / Dashboard assistant panel opens.

Step 2: Describe what you want to see

In Describe the dashboard you'd like to create, say what you want in your own words. For example:

Show me despatches by courier this week

Click Create dashboard. While DAVE works you'll see DAVE is thinking.... DAVE then builds the dashboard from your live orders, stock and despatch data.

To send your description by pressing Enter instead of clicking the button, turn on Press 'Enter' to submit.

Step 3: Review the dashboard

Check the dashboard shows what you asked for. If it doesn't, describe the change in Describe any changes you'd like to make and click Update dashboard.

Your dashboard is saved under the Custom dashboards tab on the Dashboards page.

Changing a dashboard later

Open the dashboard from Custom dashboards, then open the more options menu:

Edit with DAVE — describe a change, for example "add a chart of returns by channel".
Edit layout — move and resize the widgets yourself.
Delete dashboard — removes the dashboard.

If you don't have Insights Pro

The Create with DAVE button carries the locked Insights Pro badge. Clicking it opens the Meet DAVE window, where you can click Talk to sales. On some accounts you'll see Create dashboard instead, which shows the message Insights Pro required.

Troubleshooting

"Something went wrong. Please try again or rephrase your request."
DAVE couldn't build what you described. Try again, or describe it differently — name the data (orders, stock, despatches), the time period and how you want it grouped. If it keeps happening, note the Error reference shown.

A chart shows figures I didn't expect
DAVE uses AI and can misread a request. Check the figures against a report before relying on them, and use Edit with DAVE to correct it.
