DAVE Insight Report Summaries

Summarise a report with DAVE Insights Pro Turn any Insights report into next steps. DAVE reads your report and sorts what it finds into what needs action, what's worth watching and what's for information, with a suggested next step for each. Report summaries are part of Insights Pro.

When you view insights report you'll now see a "Summarise with DAVE" button alongside the generate report.

What is a DAVE summary?

When you run an Insights report, DAVE can read it and write a plain English summary. The summary sorts its findings into:

• Needs action — something you should deal with now, such as SKUs below their reorder level.
• Worth watching — trends that could become a problem, such as returns rising on a product line.
• For information — useful context with no action needed.

Under the findings, Suggested next steps gives DAVE's recommended action for each one.

How to summarise a report

1. Go to Insights and open the report you want.
2. Set the report's filters.
3. Click Summarise with DAVE.
4. Wait while DAVE summarises your report. This can take up to 30 seconds.

The summary appears on the DAVE summary tab of the results. To see the report data itself, switch to the Data tab and generate the report with the same filters.

If you change the report's filters, click Summarise again to get a summary of the new results.

What DAVE sees

DAVE reads summary statistics of your report, not your individual rows. Click Details under a summary to see exactly what was sent, including:

• How many rows were analysed, and the size of the data sent.
• Columns that were sent as placeholders rather than real values.
• Columns withheld for privacy, which the summary doesn't cover.

Limits and things to watch for

• Check important figures. DAVE uses AI and can be wrong. Check any figure you plan to act on against the report data.
• Withheld columns aren't covered. If a column is withheld for privacy, the summary says nothing about it.
• Summaries count towards your account's daily DAVE allowance. If the allowance runs out, try again the next day.

Troubleshooting

"Your DAVE summary hasn't been generated yet"
Click Summarise with DAVE to create one.

The Summarise with DAVE button shows an Insights Pro badge
Your account doesn't have Insights Pro. Click the button and choose Talk to sales, or contact our Sales team.

The summary doesn't match my filters
You changed the filters after summarising. Click Summarise again.
