StoreFeeder automatically keeps an eye on your pickbins and lets you know when they need topping up from your bulk stock. This article explains what Suggested Transfers are, where to find them, and how to action them.
What is a Suggested Transfer?
A Suggested Transfer is created automatically by StoreFeeder when it notices that one of your pickbins is running low (or is empty) compared to how quickly that product is selling, while there is still stock sitting in one of your bulk locations that could be used to refill it.
You'll typically see one of two reasons against a suggestion:
- No Pickbins – the product doesn't currently have a pickbin location set up at all.
- Pickbin Needs Replenishing – the product has a pickbin, but the quantity in it is either zero or lower than what you've sold of that product in the last 7 days.
StoreFeeder works out a sensible quantity to move for you based on recent sales, and will only suggest it if there's genuinely enough stock available in a bulk location to cover it (splitting the suggestion across more than one bulk location if it needs to).
Where to find Suggested Transfers
- Go to Warehouse > Stock Locations > Stock Location Transfers.
- Click the Suggested Transfers tab.
Each row in the grid shows the following information:
| Column | What it tells you |
| SKU / Product Name / MPN / Supplier SKU | Identifies the product the suggestion relates to. |
| Reason | Why the suggestion was raised (hover for more detail). |
| Stock Location From / Quantity | The bulk location the stock would come from, and how much is there. |
| Sold Last 7 Days | Recent sales velocity used to calculate the suggested quantity. |
| Stock Location To / Quantity | The pickbin the stock would move to. You can change this to a different existing location, or type a new location reference to create one. |
| Suggested Transfer Amount | The quantity StoreFeeder recommends moving. You can edit this before creating the transfer. |
How to action a Suggested Transfer
- On the Suggested Transfers tab, tick the checkbox next to each suggestion you want to action.
- If needed, adjust the destination location or the transfer quantity directly in the grid.
- From the bulk actions dropdown, select Create Transfers, then click Confirm.
- In the Create Transfer window that opens, choose:
- Immediate Transfer - On: the transfer completes straight away and stock moves into the pickbin immediately.
- Immediate Transfer- Off: a pending transfer is created instead, which you (or a colleague) can complete later. You can also choose who the pending transfer should be Assigned To.
- Click Create.
If you chose a pending transfer, you'll find it under Warehouse > Stock Locations > Stock Location Transfers > Pending Transfers, where it can be completed, edited, or deleted like any other pending transfer.
