eBay Listing Template – StoreFeeder

This guide is to help you understand what the eBay Listing Template feature does, how to create a template and how to use it.

As a pre-warning, creating a template will require you or someone who is willing to help you to have some HTML knowledge at the least.

What is a Listing Template?

An eBay listing template is a template for your eBay listings description section that uses tokens to draw information about the product being listed.

A lot of time can be saved by using this feature as it means you don't have to write out a description each time you create a listing, you can just choose one from your saved templates.

Creating a Template

If you're well versed in HTML or know somebody that is, this part is best left to them. Though it is possible you may be able to find basic templates online with a quick search!

You'll need to design a HTML template for your eBay listing description section using the following tokens that draw information from StoreFeeder unique to your listing:

Ebay title - {{title}}
Ebay Subtitle - {{subtitle}}
Ebay description - {{description}}
Product description - {{productdescription}}
Custom Label - {{sku}}
Product RRP - {{rrp}}
Product price - {{price}}
Amount Save {RRP - Price) - {{amountsaved}}
Percentage Saved - {{percentagesaved}}
EAN - {{ean}}
UPC - {{upc}}
Product SKU - {{sku}}
Product Weight - {{weight}}
Brand - {{brand}}
Custom Attribute Name - {{customattributename}}
Product images - {{imageurl*}} where * is image ID

Once you have got your template how you want it, save the HTML document and head on over to your StoreFeeder integrations page. From here you'll want to find the eBay channel you are wanting to use the template on and click 'Edit/View Integration'.

On the left hand side of your 'Integration Details' page you should see an option called 'eBay Listing template'. On this page you'll need to click the '+ New Listing Template' button in the top right to add your newly created template.

Give your template a name and select the file you created earlier to upload. Once you are done click '+ Add Template' and you will have successfully uploaded your eBay template!

Using Your eBay Listing Template

There are three ways to use your listing template, you can either: Apply the template to your listings individually, apply them to all listings that already have a template applied to them or use our Listing Import/Export feature to apply the template to multiple listings of your choice.

Applying Individually

Head over to the listing you want to apply the template to in StoreFeeder and look to the left hand side of the page, you should see an option called 'Description'

Towards the bottom of the Details page, you'll see there is an 'eBay Template' option. All you need to do here is select your desired template from the dropdown list and it will be applied to your listing's description.

Don't forget to save your changes after you are finished!

Applying to all Existing Listings with a Template

On the eBay Listings Page, look to the right of your chosen template and you will see 'Edit Template', click it.

From here you'll see an option to 'Link ALL Ebay/Templated products to this template', switch that to on and then click 'Save & Update Listings'

This method is useful if you are making a change to an already existing template and you don't use any others.

Import/Export Bulk Apply

By using our Listing Import/Export feature you can select to export the field 'Ebay Template' which will allow you to enter the name of the template you wish to apply to a listing.

This method allows you to make bulk changes without having to change every listing.
