THIS FEATURE IS CURRENTLY IN EARLY ACCESS, PLEASE KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT WHEN WE RELEASE TO ALL.
StoreFeeder lets you synchronise eBay promotions and advertising campaigns, review their performance, see which ones apply to individual listings, and add listings to promotions.
Promotions and campaigns explained
Promotions and campaigns serve different purposes:
- Promotions give buyers an offer, such as a markdown or item discount.
- Campaigns advertise listings through eBay Promoted Listings to increase their visibility.
StoreFeeder recognises two campaign funding models:
- Cost Per Sale (CPS) — advertising fees are based on attributed sales. These campaigns commonly use a percentage bid.
- Cost Per Click (CPC) — advertising fees are based on clicks. These campaigns may use budgets, bidding strategies, ad groups and keywords.
In order to see this information your users will need the Listings > eBay promotions permission. For info on how to set this please see Setting User Permissions
Each campaign contains ads that connect individual eBay listings to the campaign.
Open the Promotions & Campaigns page
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Open the relevant eBay channel.
- Select Promotions & Campaigns.
The selected channel name appears at the top of the page.
Synchronise with eBay
StoreFeeder keeps a local copy of your promotion and campaign information. Select Sync from eBay to retrieve the latest:
- Promotions and their listings
- Campaigns and their ads
- Statuses and bid percentages
- Associations between listings and marketing activity
The page refreshes when the sync finishes. The last successful sync time appears beside the button.
Run a sync when:
- A promotion or campaign is missing.
- Listing membership looks incorrect.
- A status or bid percentage is out of date.
- You have made changes directly on the eBay channel.
- You are preparing to add listings through an import.
Synchronisation may take longer for channels containing many promotions, campaigns or listings.
Review promotions
The Promotions grid displays:
- Promotion name
- Promotion type
- Current status
- Number of listings
- Start and end dates
- Priority
Use the column headings to sort or filter the grid. Select the expand control at the start of a row to see the listings included in that promotion. You can click on the listing ID to take you directly to the listing,
Review campaigns
The Campaigns (Promoted Listings) grid displays:
- Campaign name
- Funding model
- Current status
- Number of ads
- Start and end dates
- Bid percentage
Expand a campaign to see its eBay listing IDs, ad IDs, statuses, bid percentages and inventory references.
View promotions and campaigns for a listing
- Open the existing eBay listing in StoreFeeder.
- Select the Promotions tab.
- Review the Current Promotions table.
For each entry, StoreFeeder displays:
- Type — Promotion or Campaign
- Sub Type — the promotion type or campaign funding model
- Name
- Status
- Bid % — where applicable
A listing can appear in more than one promotion or campaign.
The tab is read-only and reflects the most recently synchronised data for the channel.
If the listing has not yet been uploaded to eBay, it will not have an eBay Item ID. Save and upload the listing before trying to manage its promotions.
Add listings to a promotion
You are able to add existing promotions and campaigns to a listing using the drop downs on the promotions tab. For campaigns you can either use the default bid percentage or override to a value of your choosing. After you have selected the option you want, just click the add button.
If you require to do this in bulk, listings can be added directly on the eBay channel or through a StoreFeeder import.
Add listings directly on eBay
Use the promotion-management tools on your eBay channel to select the listings you want to include.
After making the change:
- Return to the channel’s Promotions & Campaigns page in StoreFeeder.
- Select Sync from eBay.
- Open the listing’s Promotions tab to confirm the updated membership.
Add listings through a StoreFeeder import
Before starting, confirm that the listings are already live on eBay, then synchronise the channel so that the promotion is available to the importer.
For more info on how to use listing exports please see this knowledgebase page
Prepare a spreadsheet containing:
- A listing identifier, such as SKU, Channel Product SKU, Product Channel ID or eBay Item ID.
- A column containing the exact promotion name.
Example:
| SKU | AddToEbayPromotion |
|---|---|
| ABC-123 | Summer Sale |
To add the same listing to several promotions, separate their exact names with a pipe:
Summer Sale|Clearance
Run the import as follows:
- Start an existing-listing update import.
- Select the correct eBay channel.
- Choose the appropriate listing-identification field.
- Map the promotion column to AddToEbayPromotion.
- Check the preview and run the import.
- Review the import results for rejected rows.
- Synchronise the channel again.
- Open the listing’s Promotions tab to confirm the result.
Adding a listing through the import updates the promotion on eBay; it does not only create a local StoreFeeder association.
Important limitations
- The listing must already have an eBay Item ID.
- The promotion must belong to the selected eBay channel.
- An imported promotion name must match the synchronised name exactly.
- Listings cannot be manually added to rule-based promotions. Manage their selection rules directly on eBay.
- The listing’s Promotions tab cannot be used to change membership.
If promotion information is missing
- Confirm that you opened the correct eBay channel.
- Run Sync from eBay.
- Confirm that the listing is live and has an eBay Item ID.
- Check that the promotion or campaign includes the listing on eBay.
- Reopen the listing’s Promotions tab.
If the issue continues, contact StoreFeeder Support with the channel name, eBay Item ID and promotion or campaign name.
