This knowledgebase is for splitting kit products. if you have not yet created a kit product, or would like more information, see this knowledge: How to Create a Kit Product
When you have a kit product containing multiple individual products, you can select how StoreFeeder handles products contained in those kits that are out of stock. For each kit product, you can choose whether or not the kit product is displayed in orders, and subsequently whether or not you can split those orders.
To choose the option for each kit product, first navigate to ('Products'>'Manage Products') and select the kit product you would like to configure. You can filter for kit products using the drop down box as shown:
Hover over the SKU and click 'Edit'.
Select the 'Additions and Swaps' tab to find the 'Display kit product on Order' toggle:
Display kit product on order
If you choose 'Yes', you will not be able to split the component products into new orders, and the kit product itself will be visible on all orders as highlighted.
To view the order, Navigate to ('Orders'>'Manage Orders') and search for an order containing the kit product. Scroll down the page and the kit itself will now be visible along with it's component products as highlighted:
Do not display kit product on order
If you select 'No', the kit product will not be visible on orders, but you will be able to split any of the component products into new orders.
You can see each component products setting on the overview
If at least one of the component products is set to 'No' in this column, the kit product will not be visible on orders and the component products can be split into new orders.
If all of the products are set to 'Yes', you will need to delete at least one of the component products from the list and add it again, but with the toggle set to 'No'.
How to split your out of stock orders
To split an order, navigate to ('Orders'>'Manage Orders') and select the order containing the kit product that has a component that is out of stock. (This should have a status of 'Pending - Waiting Part Stock')
When you scroll down the page, you will see the 'items ordered' section and the component products will be visible. Use the check boxes to select the products you wish to split, select 'Split into New Order' as shown, and click 'Confirm':
This will split the component products into a new order that contains the order lines ready to be fulfilled. The existing order will contain the component products that were not split.
